History


The Memphis Wine + Food Series, formerly The Art of Good Taste, is the largest annual fundraiser for the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, and dollars raised from this event impact lives and enable access to the arts for children and adults across the Mid-South.

 

Now entering its 20th year, the Memphis Wine + Food Series has grown from a single wine auction in the late eighties, to several main events: the Fleming’s Wine Dinner, Brooks Uncorked, Private Winemakers Dinner, Vin-A-Que and the Grand Auction, plus several popular Warm Up to Wine classes offered throughout the year. Each year the Memphis Wine + Food Series attracts renowned chefs and prominent international vintners as the Brooks Museum celebrate the art of good taste.


Since the early 1990s, The Memphis Wine + Food Series has contributed nearly $4 million in net revenue to the Brooks. Unique to the Brooks wine auction is the expense to revenue ratio; we are proud to direct more than 70 percent of all monies raised from these events back into programming and museum operations.
